Emergence: A Journey Around the Sun

Where the seasons turn, awakening begins

Beltane

magic, ritual, Celebration

May 2nd

Avena Botanicals, Rockport Maine

At Beltane, we step into a relationship with the light that is only available at the threshold to Summer. As we enter the Summer/Fire phase, the spark that ignited our very existence becomes more visible, more accessible to light our soul’s path.

At this gathering, you are invited to heal and release the fear and grief of the last few months, and step into a space where we nourish the Heart so that more light and love can abide, even in dark times. Together we explore how to hold joy and grief, hope and fear, and allow the light, love, joy, and passion of Summer to manifest through our original soul’s blueprint.

We can feel that something is shifting. The old world is unraveling even as a new one begins to form, like the first green shoots pushing through spring soil. We may feel a little unsteady, as though we have stepped into a landscape that is both familiar and strange, learning how to live inside a story that is still unfolding.

light, love, belonging

These Emergence seasonal gatherings follow the turning of the Wheel of the Year, pausing at the thresholds when the veil feels thin and guidance is easier to hear. Together we drink from the deep wells, as our ancestors did, listen with the Heart, and notice what is quietly coming to life within and through us. As we align with the spark that brought us here, our gifts begin to flower naturally, and we find ourselves participating in the unfolding future of Life as co-creators with the Earth.

The Emergence Series is a chance for a small circle of companions to walk the turning of the year together. We begin at Beltane and meet again at each seasonal threshold. Each gathering is complete in itself, but something special unfolds when we travel the whole arc together.

the arc of the day

We begin the day gathered in an opening circle, creating an altar together in honor of Beltane, the festival of fertility and the beginning of the flowering season. Just as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds move through the land pollinating new life, each person will place an item on the altar representing something within themselves they hope to bring to flower in the months ahead. In the human world, the Fire phase of summer carries this same impulse toward connection, play, and joyful exchange. It is the warmth and passion of summer that enlivens this life force within us, awakening the Heart and inviting what has been growing quietly inside to begin to bloom.

We have the good fortune to be hosted by Avena Botanicals in Rockport, a biodynamic medicinal herb and pollinator farm and garden. I am hoping to spend time in the gardens connecting with the plant spirits there, weather permitting. Through a guided meditation journey, you will meet the spirit of a plant that calls to you there, opening a relationship that can stay with you through the season and beyond. Along the way, we will weave in breathwork and energy healing to gently clear the stuck emotions of the past few months, invite fresh the Fire Phase Qi of Joy to move through us, and awaken a living, embodied connection with Spirit and the hidden gifts our souls carry, waiting to emerge into the world at this time.

We will close the day with a fire ceremony. Gathering in the warmth of the Fire element, we welcome joy, connection, passion, laughter, and the spark of life that longs to be shared. Fire has always been a messenger to spirit, carrying prayers into the unseen worlds and holding intention until the moment it is ready to come alive, like seeds resting in the soil, waiting for the right season to sprout.

Together we will make offerings to the Fire, sending our hopes and blessings forward in time. You will write a small note to your future self, or perhaps to your children or grandchildren, infusing it with love, encouragement, and trust in a beautiful life still unfolding. These offerings become embers carried into the future, ready to kindle light and warmth when and where it is most needed.

What People are talking about

I'm so grateful to have attended one of your retreats. I came away from it feeling more connected to my ancestors and understand how Ican carry on a legacy without the trauma. You have a special gift and I'm so glad I know you. BFAmy's retreats provide an incredibly valuable touchstone in our chaotic times. They're a chance to meet like-minded people I might not otherwise know, connect with myself in a supportive environment, and learn about the turnings of nature in a way that feels grounding. -KM
I am grateful for all the joy, resilience, love, community, sharing, insights, wisdom and commitment to ourselves and others Amy brings into our hearts and to the Earth. It is such a warming, grounded experience to be with in circle with her. -Lori
As we moved through the day, I found myself feeling safe and relaxed. And after the floss breathing exercise the tension I've carried in my chest since my partner died seemed to vanish. When I notice it returning I now stop and breathe and it soon dissipates. Such a wonderful gift! -SY

These retreats are helping me build community and feel connected to other folks who have the same or similar values and concerns. The acceptance of where we are is tempering my internal resistance and allowing me to take steps on a more spiritual and sacred path toward what I want to manifest into the world. Maybe some of that could help someone else? - SR
The retreat was a beautiful gathering of inquiring and nurturing souls. The introductions at the beginning made me aware that I am in community with others on this path and that there is room for different directions and understandings. The fire ceremony was a great closer, but also highlighted the work I want to continue to pursue and deepen my understanding. -CM
Amy's retreat will empower you with an "excuse" or motivation kinder and more compassionate, it will offer you tools and frameworks of thinking to help you navigate the difficult times that we live in. It will remind you of the values that are worth upholding (and not surprisingly, those same ones that give us meaning and fulfillment) during a time of quite rapid dissolution of value systems and networks of support. You will walk away refreshed and grounded. -PB

Growing, deepening, freeing, in a safe setting with a community of impressive people. -DF

Gathering in the safe shelter of an old barn, sharing personal vulnerabilities, learning the ancient ways of all levels of nature, sends us back into the current world, strengthened and embraced by humanity at its best. -DS
